CONGRESS EXEMPTS ITSELF FROM OBAMACARE

SOUNDS LIKE PELOSI, AFTER SHE READ THE BILL, DECIDED SHE DOESN'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE.  AND NEITHER DOES CONGRESS, FEDERAL EMPLOYEES, THE IRS AND A MYRIAD OF UNIONS.   

 Obamacare: Congress  Exempt From Affordable Care Act   

For Obamacare, Congress exempted themselves from the Affordable Care Act in a  deal arranged by President Obama. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Obamacare implementation in California could be a disaster  in terms of identity theft and fraud according to the California insurance  commissioner. 

Another study claims the Affordable Care Act could cause people to leave their jobs and even Unions are criticizing Obamacare. Recently, IRS workers unions said they wanted an Obamacare exemption.  The rumor that an Obamacare exemption for Congress existed has been spread  around by chain mails for years. This claim was shot down repeatedly by Snopes,  PolitiFact, and others. Ironically, while Obamacare call center workers won’t get health insurance the Obamacare exemption for Congress just became reality recently. 

Obamacare: Congress Exempt? You might be wondering, “How did Obamacare’s Congress exemption come to be?” While both the  business and individual mandate for Obamacare has been delayed until  2015, much of the Affordable Care Act is still steaming full ahead, with state exchange signups beginning this October. As it is now, taxpayers pay for almost 75 percent of premium payments as part of government employee benefits in  Washington DC. But back when the Affordable Care Act was being written, Senator  Chuck Grassley (R-IA) inserted a clause that says all Congress members, and all  government workers under the Office of Personnel Management, must be covered by  healthcare plans created by Obamacare or through state exchanges. 

This Obamacare stipulation would cause the premium payments of all government workers to skyrocket by thousands of dollars per year, not just members of  Congress. Congress members in both parties fear this will cause a “brain drain”  in Washington DC because they’d be forced to pay everyone more, which is unlikely under the Federal government’s budget crunch. The more likely scenario is that they might see an exodus of the most talented people finding better jobs in the private sector. 

Even Republicans like Senator Tom Coburn desire an Obamacare Congress exemption: “I don’t care what the answer is. Give us an answer so that if we want to do  a legislative fix to take care of the people who actually work for us. I mean, they’re going to be the only set of federal employees that actually get paid by the federal government that have to go into the exchange. [OPM knows] the  answer—they just won’t share it. And I want time to legislate on it before we  lose half our staff.” 

President Obama worked on the Obamacare exemption for Congress which says that “the government can continue to make a contribution to the health care premiums of members of Congress and their aides.” Obamacare’s Congress exemption is supposed to be approved next week even though earlier this year Congress denied any such Obamacare exemption negotiations took place. 

Critics claim Congress’s Obamacare exception will allow government workers to “purchase the most expensive policy available on the exchange and you and I will pick up most of the tab.”

OH WHAT A TANGLED WEB THEY WEAVE, WHEN OBAMA PRACTICES TO DECEIVE.  

IS SANDRA FLUKE A FLAKE, A FLUKE OR A WHITE HOUSE STOOGE?

The truth came out today. The Sandra Fluke controversy is nothing more than a White House manufactured issue to divert attention from Obama’s attempt to dictate that religious
organizations must cover contraception and abortion services in their insurance
plans. What a subterfuge, because the “Obama Mandate” applies to all insurance coverage, all policies, all insureds, all employers, all Americans, not just religious organizations. That fact has gotten lost in the scuffle. It’s not about contraceptives. It’s all about power.

But here’s the real question. Who is “handling” Sandra Fluke? Why did she suddenly appear on the scene as the champion of women victims of contraception discrimination? Who is paying for this poor Georgetown college student (who can’t afford to pay for her own birth control pills) to jet around the country appearing here, there and everywhere? You can bet it isn’t
Fluke! Remember, she has no money. So far she’s appeared on 8 Main Stream news programs, unchallenged in her assertions that she is a victim because she has to pay for her own pleasures.

And now the truth is revealed. Fluke is being represented by a PR agency called SKDKnickerbocker. The managing editor of SKDK is Anita Dunn, the former Obama communications director. So this whole fiasco comes back to the White House. Surprise, surprise!

This is what is now known to be fact. Fluke is the head of a group called
Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice. On Feb 9 a group called the Feminist Majority Foundation arranged for Fluke to appear at a press conference so that she could
publicly criticize the Catholic Bishops who have come out so vocally against the Obama contraception mandate.

Shortly after that staged action, Congressman Elijah Cummings (D) asked Fluke to testify in front of a House Oversight Committee hearing. The purpose of the hearing was to hear testimony on the separation of church and state and health care. The hearing was not about the Obama contraceptive mandate. Darrell Issa, Chairman of the Committee, refused to let Fluke testify because she had no expertise in church and state issues. But Fluke attended anyway. After the hearing Fluke whined and bellyached to ABC News that she had not been allowed to testify.

A week later Pelosi staged a pseudo hearing starring guess who? Right, Ms. Fluke. Then Rush Limbaugh made his inappropriate comments elevating Fluke and Contraceptives to Liberal Loon Notoriety. And the press was off and running.

It’s no accident that Fluke is being trotted out as a victim. Obama’s approval rating among
women was way, way down, and his attempt to force Catholics to comply with The
King’s rules backfired. He had to do something, and Fluke is his willing pawn.

It’s no accident that Cummings, Pelosi and Dunn put her front and center as their Mouthpiece on the contraception issue. Want more proof? The Community Organizer in Chief personally called Fluke to give her a “phone huggie” and make her feel better. Want even more
proof? Fluke is telling her audiences to head on over to Media Matters for the real truth. That’s how laughable she is.

The average first year salary of a Georgetown graduate is $160,000 per year. Ms. Fluke wants us to believe she is a “victim” because she’s attending GT and is not getting free
contraception paid for by us. She’s a great example of the “gimme-gimme” mentality.
There are hundreds of thousands of women going through college, working 2 and 3 jobs so they can pay their own bills. They are not begging, whining, demanding or blabbing at press
conferences. They are too busy trying to get through school, scared that when they get out they won’t even be able to find a job, thanks to Obama, much less contraception coverage.

But I have great faith in American women. I believe they will see past this Obama staged
production. I believe women will not sacrifice another freedom for a bunch of free stuff from the government. I believe women know full well that if Obama’s contraceptive mandate becomes law he will eventually “mandate” every aspect of their lives. I believe women know this is just another power grab in Obama’s relentless power-grab-goodie-bag. I believe American women know our Constitution is dying every single day at the hands of Obama and his Constitution Killing Machine. I believe they will not fall for this and will send him back to Chicago in November.

As for Ms. Fluke? Bet she’ll have a job with the Obama White House in 3, 2, 1…..

PELOSI BLAMES BUSH FOR RISING GAS PRICES

Watch this video.  It's 3 minutes long.   Ms. Pelosi will say anything until it's their guy in charge.  She is full of blame, blame, shame on Bush for the high gas prices.  Oh, wait, at the time she proclaimed Bush was to blame (May 8, 2007, regular gas was $3.07 per gallon.  With inflation factored into that price, $3.07 would be  $3.13 today.

I wonder what Ms. Pelosi is saying today when gas is $3.59 per gallon and rising?  Think she will show up at a news conference and repeat her 2007 "speech" inserting Obama for every time she says Bush?

Doubtful.  Opportunistic Leftists will scream from the rooftops, shout from the rafters, blame anyone and everyone, until it's their guy in charge - like right now, today.

SLAP MY HAND CHARLIE

Charlie Rangel, 40 year Congressman from Harlem in NY. He just got reelected. Does that make him a Career Politician? He's 80 years old.

For over 2 years he's been charged with multiple House ethics violations. Finally, right after the election, of course, the House Ethics Committee finds him guilty of egregious ethical behavior. The activities that got him in trouble are very troublesome, including tax evasion and using campaign funds to pay personal legal bills. WOW! Another cheater in the House.

So what does the House Ethics Committee do? They "censure" him. Instead of expulsion, they slap him on the hand.

Expulsion appears in the Constitution. Censure does not. Censure is similar to a reprimand. It's a nothing penalty! It's a pass. It's letting the fox into the hen house knowing the fox is up to no good. Censure simply means Old Charlie will stand in the well of the House while the Speaker of the House rebukes him. That means Nancy Pelosi gets to take Charlie to task for his lack of ethics and honesty. The same Nancy who said "we are going to drain the swamp." Now Nancy, in case you haven't noticed, there is so much toxic waste in the swamp it's unlikely it will ever be drained during your tenure. That's because you are part of the pollution.

Now that the House has made their determination I wonder if the IRS and other agencies will investigate Charlie? You can bet they would if you or I or some other "commoner" were evading taxes. Anyone else would be looking at penalties, fines and interest.

This slap on Charlie's hand is a microcosm of the uncontrolled corruption in Congress. They never pay the price for their deeds. They just snicker and look the other way.

The Lawyer's Party

I got an email with some information written by Bruce Walker*. That's what it says, though I don't know if the name is real. The stats listed are very interesting and I thought I'd share them with you.

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers' Party. Barack Obama is a lawyer. Michelle Obama is a lawyer. Hillary Clinton is a lawyer. Bill Clinton is a lawyer. John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.

Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school, although Gore did not graduate. Every Dem. vice presidential nominee since 1976, except Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school. Look at leaders of the Dem Party in Congress. Harry Reid is a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different. President Bush is a businessman. VP Cheney is a businessman. Newt Gingrich was a history professor. Tom Delay was an exterminator. dick Armey was an economist. John Boehner was a plastic manufacturer. Bill Frist is a heart surgeon. Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford who left office 31 years ago.

The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work whom are often the targets of lawyers.

The Lawyers' Party sees these sorts of people who provide goods and serves that people want, as the enemies of America. Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value for our nation.

Today we are drowning in laws. We are contorted by judicial decisions. We are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all areas of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place should be modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked.

When the most important decision for our president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme court the role of lawyers and the law in America is too broad.

When House Democrats sue America (Arizona) in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

We cannot expect the Lawyers' party to provide real change, real reform or real hope in America. Americans know that a republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Americans know that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our defenders.

The U. S. has 5% of the worlds population and 66% of the worlds lawyers. Tort (legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits, such as spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you, and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyer's Association goes to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high!

So there it is, Readers. I thought it was an interesting viewpoint. No wonder there is no TORT REFORM in OBAMACARE and the Dems fought the Reps attempts to include it.

THE "SKINNY" ON THE 1% TRANSACTION TAX

Today I received an email regarding an alleged proposal by Obama/Pelosi to charge a 1% Transaction Tax on all financial transactions, every bank deposit/withdrawal, transfers within accounts, credit card transactions, ATMs, direct deposits, Banks, Credit Unions, Mutual Funds, Brokers, real estate, etc. Any financial transaction, the tax would apply.

I thought, well, this is something everyone should know about, but as I always do, I checked the facts before publishing the information in this blog. So these are the facts on this subject.

In February Rep. Fattah (Liberal Dem from Pa) introduced his "Debt Free America Act." Contained within this act is a proposal for the 1% transaction tax cited above. The act is pretty radical and has not gained any traction in Washington within either party. So far Fattah has found no one who would sign onto the bill with him.

So it appears that as of now the 1% transaction tax is not going forward full steam ahead. Snopes says the rumor about the tax isn't true, but Snopes can be notoriously wrong on political issues. Their political slant is usually Left/Liberal. Therefore they debunk things that are actually true. I tend not to trust Snopes.

But in this case Fact Check.org has also said a 1% transaction tax has not been passed and is not endorsed by the administration at this time. And they are correct. It has not been passed - yet.

But Beware, Friends. Listen to what Pelosi said about this tax at a news conference just last Thursday:

“I believe that the transaction tax still has a great deal of merit.” The tax would be a "great source of revenue that has a really minimal impact on the transaction but a tremendous impact on helping us meet our needs.”

Only a Democrat would believe that a tax would have a "really minimal impact" on us. She is just a blithering fool.

And you all know what this means. The 1% Transaction Tax is Not A Going-Nowhere Issue with Pelosi and the Democrats. Though it has not been passed into law, Pelosi likes the idea. That spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e for us.

It’s a hint here, a suggestion there, a gentle nudge, and then a stronger nudge, and pretty soon a 1% Transaction Tax becomes law before the American public knows what hit 'em. In spite of what Snopes and Factcheck say, I will be watching this issue. So should you.

In the meantime we can Throw The Bums Out.

November is crucial to our survival! The stakes are higher this year than ever before. We have the opportunity to stop the Obama/Pelosi train by electing conservative candidates to Congress.

And make no mistake, Obama just wrapped up a three-day fundraising swing raising millions of dollars to directly elect new Democrats or re-elect incumbents who will rubber stamp his disastrous agenda. You know the smears against conservatives will increase as November approaches. Any lie or half truth the Obama/Dems can come up with will be used to undermine opposition candidates.

Don't fall for the political lies, fabrications and exaggerations they will be trying to sell you. Don't lose sight of what the election is really about -- ever enlarging government, out of control spending that will bankrupt us, sleazy back door politics, buy outs, bail outs, vote buying, fraud, deceit, sky-high unemployment, a health care bill that few Americans wanted, stagnant economy, tax hikes, potential Cap and Tax, Card Check, the Apology Foreign Policy, you name it, we've got it or we're going to get it shoved down our collective throats. And America is on a course for disaster.

With Obama's failed leadership the next generation will inherit a very weakened country, drug cartels in Mexico murdering Americans in our border states, Tax cartels in Washington taking ever more of your hard earned dollars, and weak foreign policy that invites another 9-11.

Don't Let This Happen. Vote in November.

Max Baucus doesn't know how to Read

Hey, did you read about this? Max Baucus, a very high-up-the-food-chain Democrat, admitted at a town hall meeting a week ago that he didn't read the health care bill. He said "You don't want me to waste my time reading" the bill "We hire people to do that."

Well guess what, folks? Max Baucus WROTE the bill. So isn't it ironic that he admidts now that he never read it? Sure makes sense to me.

Similar to Pelosi stating "We have to pass the bill to know what's in it."

These people are all absolutely, without a doubt CRAZY!

Pelosi Has Foot In Mouth Disease

Well, well, Nancy Pelosi has done it again - she is calling for an investigation of the people who are opposed to building the mosque in the shadow of the Twin Towers in New York. Instead of investigating where the money is coming from to build it, whether or not terrorist groups are helping with the funding, the Lear Jet Liberal Pelosi wants to investigate 64% of Americans - that's the percentage of Americans who are against the mosque being built at Ground Zero. I sure hope Californians vote her out in November. She is an embarrassment to the state and they need to kiss her good bye.

Ron Kind Listening Session Today

Today I attended Kind's listening session in Hudson. He has represented the 3rd Cong. District since 1996, 13 years. During the session today he talked about earmark reform and how it is long overdue. He said Social Security adjustments have been delayed for too long. He said large corporate farmers have received most of the farm subsidies and this has to change. He said "the deficit is unsustainable." He said he supports leaving the Bush tax cuts on anyone earning over $250,000, those "rich bankers and Wall Street types", because we need to raise revenue. But the gentleman in the audience who asked about the Bush tax cuts was certainly no "rich banker or Wall Street type."

He didn't get to my question, but if he had I would have asked him, Where were you for the last 13 years if you think these things have now gone on long enough? He's voted with Nancy Pelosi 93% of the time. That should tell you everything you need to know about Ron Kind. I believe Pelosi does not represent the values of Western WI, and according to his voting record, neither does Ron Kind.

I will mention one last thing. When I have attended these sessions in the past they have put the question sheets in order of your arrival so if you arrive early you have a good chance of getting called on. So I arrived very early and was one of the first to submit a question. Because of my early arrival I expected to be called on. However, I sat in the very front of the room and observed Mr. Kind's aide previewing the question sheets and separating them into two piles. At first I thought he was separating them by subject. But two piles wouldn't fit that agenda. He then handed Mr. Kind one of the piles and the aide kept the other pile. At that point I knew I would not be called on. Mr. Kind's office knows who I am.

They don't know me by face, but they certainly know my name because I email them and call them regularly, each time filling in my name. I was absolutely certain my question was put into the pile that the aide kept to himself. I can hardly wait until November, 2010 to throw him out of office. He's been there way too long.
