 Obamacare: Congress  Exempt From Affordable Care Act   

For Obamacare, Congress exempted themselves from the Affordable Care Act in a  deal arranged by President Obama. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Obamacare implementation in California could be a disaster  in terms of identity theft and fraud according to the California insurance  commissioner. 

Another study claims the Affordable Care Act could cause people to leave their jobs and even Unions are criticizing Obamacare. Recently, IRS workers unions said they wanted an Obamacare exemption.  The rumor that an Obamacare exemption for Congress existed has been spread  around by chain mails for years. This claim was shot down repeatedly by Snopes,  PolitiFact, and others. Ironically, while Obamacare call center workers won’t get health insurance the Obamacare exemption for Congress just became reality recently. 

Obamacare: Congress Exempt? You might be wondering, “How did Obamacare’s Congress exemption come to be?” While both the  business and individual mandate for Obamacare has been delayed until  2015, much of the Affordable Care Act is still steaming full ahead, with state exchange signups beginning this October. As it is now, taxpayers pay for almost 75 percent of premium payments as part of government employee benefits in  Washington DC. But back when the Affordable Care Act was being written, Senator  Chuck Grassley (R-IA) inserted a clause that says all Congress members, and all  government workers under the Office of Personnel Management, must be covered by  healthcare plans created by Obamacare or through state exchanges. 

This Obamacare stipulation would cause the premium payments of all government workers to skyrocket by thousands of dollars per year, not just members of  Congress. Congress members in both parties fear this will cause a “brain drain”  in Washington DC because they’d be forced to pay everyone more, which is unlikely under the Federal government’s budget crunch. The more likely scenario is that they might see an exodus of the most talented people finding better jobs in the private sector. 

Even Republicans like Senator Tom Coburn desire an Obamacare Congress exemption: “I don’t care what the answer is. Give us an answer so that if we want to do  a legislative fix to take care of the people who actually work for us. I mean, they’re going to be the only set of federal employees that actually get paid by the federal government that have to go into the exchange. [OPM knows] the  answer—they just won’t share it. And I want time to legislate on it before we  lose half our staff.” 

President Obama worked on the Obamacare exemption for Congress which says that “the government can continue to make a contribution to the health care premiums of members of Congress and their aides.” Obamacare’s Congress exemption is supposed to be approved next week even though earlier this year Congress denied any such Obamacare exemption negotiations took place. 

Critics claim Congress’s Obamacare exception will allow government workers to “purchase the most expensive policy available on the exchange and you and I will pick up most of the tab.”

LIFE IN THE ER, THE WAY IT REALLY IS

Just received a message from a friend of mine whose family has had more than one ER experience this summer. I am quoting the latest experience exactly as it was reported to me by a mother who took her child to the ER. For privacy reasons I have edited the child's name and the city where this happened. Let me just say, though, this was not a city in a border state or anywhere near a border state.

This is an ER in Middle America in the age of open borders.

"It was frustrating at the ER Sunday night with (our child). We had to wait almost 5 hours because the waiting room was filled with Mexican couples and their babies/toddlers. None of the kids were crying or even looked sick. Most were running around playing. Wasn't this an EMERGENCY room? I wondered if they were using the ER like a regular doctor's visit. Everyone was speaking Spanish, including some of the employees at (the hospital). All the magazines were in Spanish and so was the television show. I felt like I was in a different country. And I bet none of them had to pay $150 deductible to be treated, like I had to. Plus I'll have to pay 10% of all other charges. Wish I could get in on some of that "free" health care. We pay $1600/month plus our out-of-pockets are ridiculous. Oh well, I know I'm making a LOT of assumptions here. It was just bizarre."

This is likely going on in ERs all over America. And guess who's paying the bill?

Our gutless government just hasn't been telling us the truth about this. They'd rather leave the border porous and buy the Hispanic vote than to save our economy.

TAX TSUNAMI #2 - LOOK OUT, HERE COMES OBAMACARE

TAX TSUNAMI #2 is as bad or worse than Tax Tsunami #1. Let's take a close look at OBAMACARE TAXES.

Obamacare contains over 20 new or higher taxes. Some will first go into effect on January 1, 2011, the rest will phase in by 2014.

The Special Needs Kids Tax. This provision of Obamacare imposes a cap on FSAs which are flexible spending accounts used by the taxpayer to contribute before tax dollars that can be used for out-of-pocket health care expenses. Currently there is no federal government cap on these accounts. Obamacare imposes a $2500 cap. Under Obamacare you will not be able to contribute more than $2500 to an FSA, no matter what your health care needs are.

One of the problems with this provision? There are thousands of families with special needs children and many of them use FSAs to pay for special needs education, which can easily exceed $10,000 per year.

Under the pre-Obamacare rules families could use FSA dollars to fund the special needs education of their children. Under Obamacare FSA dollars cannot be used to pay for this type of special needs education, NONE OF IT. This will have a huge tax impact on families who have special needs children.

The Medicine Cabinet Tax. Obamacare, oh, how great it will be for us, so Obama promised. But look closely at this provision. You will no longer be able to use a Health Savings Account (HSA), a flexible spending account (FSA) or health reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase non-prescription over-the-counter medication, even medications that your doctor says you must take due to a chronic condition that can be treated with over-the-counter drugs. This provision will force your doctor to write a prescription for something you could get at the counter. Anybody think a "prescription" for an "over-the-counter" drug is going to save money?

The HSA (Health Savings Account) Withdrawal Tax Hike. Currently you can withdraw funds from your HSA for non-medical reasons and pay a 10% penalty. That's the same penalty you pay if you withdraw funds early from an IRA. But under Obamacare the HSA non-medical withdrawal penalty goes to 20%.

These examples are only a few of the over 20 new taxes coming our way under Obamacare.

What was that he said repeatedly during the campaign? Under $250,000 in income your taxes will not change? There will be no new taxes for the middle income taxpayer? Did he really say those things? You Bet!

But I contend these new Obamacare taxes will hit the middle income taxpayer harder than any other group, in spite of what King Obama proclaimed.

OBAMACARE TAB UP, NOT DOWN

So the news today is that health care costs will RISE under Obamacare, not go down as Obama continually told us. This information comes from our own GOVERNMENT, who has been studying Obamacare since its passage. This information shows that Obamacare didn't solve the cost problem in spite of Obama's promises.

The analysis found that health care spending will grow to nearly 20% of our economy. That is a HUGE amount of money and will surely affect the country's ability to spend money on other things, like education, research, transportation, or other programs.

Medical spending now accounts for about 17% of the economy, and most experts will tell that that even at 17%, it's too high. After all, wasn't that the purpose of Obamacare? To bring down the percent of money spent on health care?

But here is more sobering news.

By 2014 Medicaid will be opened up to millions more low-income people. Many doctors/clinics are already not accepting Medicaid patients because they lose money on every patient (due to federal mandated limits on coverage), and they can't afford to treat them, so that's one problem. The other is that for those who do get coverage, up goes our debt.

That same year insurers will have to accept all applicants, regardless of health problems. Who does Obama think is going to pay for that? Oh, the health coverage companies you say? The increased cost will just be passed on to the consumer, so up go our premiums.

Most Americans will be required to carry coverage or face a fine from the IRS. Yes, that's right, the Boogie Man IRS with their heavy handed tactics will be in control of assessing and collecting these fines. 17,000 more IRS agents are being hired. How much do you think 17,000 new federal employees will cost us? These costs were NOT included in the final cost estimates for Obamacare. Another scam on the American public. And up goes our debt again.

The report also shows that government is already becoming the dominant player in health care without fully enacting Obamacare. The biggest growth will come in Medicare and Medicaid (up 34% by 2014). Who is going to pay for this increase? Guess what, we are, and up goes our debt.

Do Obama backers get it yet? He lied again and again just to shove through his idea of what our health care should look like.

It's no wonder Obama wants to raise all taxes through not extending the Bush tax cuts. He has to pay for this travesty some way.

In the meantime, do you understand what Bankruptcy looks like? Get ready. We are already there.

Health Care Spending Fraud by CBO

Saw this information on a Spending Revolt website and thought I'd share it.

"CBO reveals health care spending increase…five months late.
September 3, 2010 by Spending Revolt

During the recent federal health care debate, one of the biggest disagreements was over whether the legislation would reduce the deficit. Democrats argued, using analysis from the Congressional Budget Office, that it would. Republicans argued that those “scores” had been gamed with unrealistic provisions that would not be implemented. This focus on the deficit missed an important question: how would the bill affect spending and taxes, rather than just the net effect?

Recently, CBO revealed that the health care legislation, as written, will increase entitlement spending by $401 billion and increase taxes by $525 billion over the next 10 years. i.e. it significantly expands the size of government. During the debate (when it really mattered), CBO only reported that the net effect would be a reduction in the deficit.

As Keith Hennessey points out, this new report “gives us the complete picture five months late.” For some reason, in CBO’s initial analysis, they combined spending and taxes into a single number and reported the net effect. Because of the way they presented information, it was impossible to pull out their estimates of increased spending.

Hennessey speculates that someone leaned on CBO. They “had this information last March but they buried it…I would bet heavily that CBO was pressured.” CBO analysts have a tough job and we may never know why they did or did not include certain information. One thing is certain: it would have added to the debate if CBO had revealed five months ago that the “Affordable Care Act” will increase spending by almost half a trillion dollars."

That's the article. Do any of you remember when the head of the CBO was called into Obama's White House office for a pow wow? And right after that the CBO revised their cost figures downward? And that helped Obamacare get shoved through Congress?

It was a lie and fraud then, and it remains a lie and fraud now. Wonder what Obama had to give the head of the CBO to "buy" his cooperation?

US Human Rights slammed by Obama UN report

There is a UN Human Rights Council which Obama decided the US should join. The Bush administration had shunned this panel for years because of the panel's disproportionate criticism of Israel and because membership on the panel includes very repressive regimes. But Obama, with his world view, arranged for the US to gain a seat on this panel.

And now the US under Obama has submitted its first ever report to this UN Human Rights panel. And guess what it says? That the US discriminates against gays, lesbians, blacks, Latinos, Muslims, South Asians, Native Americans, the disabled, immigrants, to name a few. And due to US discrimination these groups suffer from high unemployment rates, hate crimes, poverty, poor housing, lack of health care, discriminatory hiring practices, racial profiling, inhumane prison conditions, racial disparities in death penalty cases, and abuses in the immigration detention system. Oh, and that "large segments of American society suffer from unfair policies and practices."

YES, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THIS IS ALL IN THE REPORT! Did you notice something about the list? White Americans are not mentioned anywhere, which must mean whites are the perpetrators of all this alleged discrimination.

This report to the UN Human Rights Council will now be studied by the other members of the panel and "recommendations" will be made to the US to help us clean up our act. This from a UN panel? The UN is one of the greatest abusers of human rights in the world.

I submit that we do not need the UN or any of its panels to tell us how to deal with human rights. The UN has absolutely no validity in the human rights arena.

But what else would we expect from a president who doesn't much like us? This is the Obama Apology Tour on steroids. And thank Hillary too. She's all chummy, chummy with the UN.
