HORSE APPLES!!

Harry The Horseman, riding to the rescue of The Cowboy Poetry Gathering held each year in northern Nevada. Did you see Old Harry Reid on TV having a temper tantrum because the "mean-spirited" budget crunching Republicans want to cut funding to the National Endowment for the Arts? Cutting the NEA grants would effectively cut federal funding for NPR and thereby would cut funding for thousands of "art" projects and events nationwide, all of whom get some of their funding from NPR, and that means us, our tax dollars.

You must have heard about NPR this week. It's the organization whose senior executives were fired this week after they were video taped at a meeting with people they thought were members of the Muslim Brotherhood. The stated purpose of the meeting was for NPR to solicit funds from MB to establish Sharia Law in the U.S. Oh, yeah, NPR gets millions and millions of OUR TAX DOLLARS through the NEA. Watch the video below. You will be enlightened.

So in rides Happy Trails Harry wanting a showdown at the O.K. Corral because he says tens of thousands attend the Cowboy Poetry event every year and with no federal funding the festival wouldn't happen. The truth has come out now, and the yearly attendance at this most important Horse Apple event is about 3,000, substantially less than "tens of thousands." Harry, listen up, check your facts before you get on your High Horse.

Just to get our Cowboy facts straight, Harry wants us to fund Cowboy Poetry while our deficit for just this year is 1.6 trillion dollars. Well, Harry, it's my firm belief that the Sudden Death of the Cowboy Poetry Gathering would likely create the kind of misery that could inspire some really great poetry. Wouldn't you agree, Harry? JUST DON'T USE OUR MONEY TO PROMOTE THIS HORSE MANURE! IT STINKS!!
